Sept. 24, 2009 — This year marks the 20th Anniversary of Grocers Fight Cancer fundraising event for the American Cancer Society. All Houchens Markets, Jr. Food Stores, IGA, Crossroads IGA, IGA Express and Shell locations will be selling pink paper ribbons for a dollar each during the entire month of October.

The conventional Houchens and IGA stores will be donating a percentage of sales on Wednesday, October 7th to the American Cancer Society and allowing cancer survivors and Relay for Life teams to bag groceries during the hours of 3-7 pm.

Over the 20 year span, Houchens Industries has donated approx. $400,000 to the American Cancer Society through this Grocers Fight Cancer fundraising campaign.
